Moulana Banglori Majalis Seventh Moharram 2005

Moulana Banglori majlis seventh Moharram 2005

Surah jumah in which Allah states that he has sent a Prophet among the people of Mecca. It is a big thing that you start preaching with the people who are illiterate and then send it to the people who are scholars. The Prophet had to bear a lot of hardship and stated that no nabi had to bear such hardship. At that time there would also do hajj. He would go on marwa and tell them that he is the prophet of Allah and he would be stoned and would be covered in stones. Despite these hardships the prophet did not move from his mission. The angels were disturbed. These angels had seen many prophets before the prophet and they asked Allah for permission to go to help the prophet and punish the people gathering him. Despite these hardships and the offers by the angels to punish the nasty people the prophet prayed that these people do not recognize me and therefore do not punish them. Allah therefore declared that as long as the prophet is among the people he will not punish them and he will also not punish them as long as there is someone begging for forgiveness. Why did the punishment not befall the people at the time of Karbala? This is because imam hussain was there and as long as one of the imams exists there will be no punishment.

Nazi ibn e munkaz was told by his father to take gifts to the prophet. He came to Arabia and asked the people who is the prophet. Someone presented abu jehal in front of him and he asked him two questions and told them that this is not the prophet. The man searched median and when he ran into the prophet he recognized him by his attributes and told him that you alone could be the prophet and I have brought gifts from my father. The prophet stated using his name the names of the 17 slaves and asked for the 17 camels. Abu jehal went to abu talib and told him that someone had given gifts for the Kaaba and your nephew has taken them over. The prophet stated that these camels were for me and let us go ask the camels. Abu jehal went to the biggest god of his and told him that if you make the camels state that the gifts are for you then I will build a pearl palace for you. The next day when the camels were asked they replied in fluent Arabic oh rasool naji's father gave us as gift to you oh prophet of Allah.
Allah has placed in the creation of man hauaa. He has made man greedy. Try giving something to a child and try to take it back from them. This is because children are greedy. We had discussed justice in the majalis yesterday. In today’s majlis we want to discuss iffat or moderation.

If your desires are at the point where you do not pay any attention to halaal or haraam then this is called shara. If this gets even more then this is called greed. If a greedy man keeps asking he does not increase his rizk but becomes shameless. Imam baqir as sates that shame and iman are twins and if one of these is gone then the other is gone as well. Thus greed removes shame and if this is gone then so is iman.

Adam was given shame intellect and deen. Adam was asked to pick and he picked intellect. Gibraael asked shame and deen to return with him they refused to return as they had been told by Allah not to leave the side of intellect. Thus Imam Ali has stated that without intellect you cannot have iman. Imam Ali states that he who has shame he will be ashamed of others and also of himself. The best modesty is that man has shame from his own nafs. Allah has made two angels for you and in your solitude at least be ashamed of them.

You have heard that being without any clothes in the bathroom is not recommended. This is because even if you are naked the angels are there and if you do not feel shy of them they will feel shy and leave. Once the angels leave iblis will be able to come there easily. If you are ashamed of your nafs then you will dress yourself and if it is shame of society you will clothe all.

If a man loses shame and stands on the street corner and drinks then doing ghibat about him is not ghibat. This is because he has lost the shame himself. Imam Ali is talking of this in the dua e kumail. He asks Allah to forgive the sins that make you forget self defense. Doing sins in the open are such sins.

Being with modesty is the basis of imaan. The basis of iffat is shame, faithfulness, joot, --- sakhawat is not common to man and Allah. Allah is jawaad but not sakhi. Jawaad means that no matter whether man has something or not Allah gives it to him. As a result of Allah’s charity he gives this to others and this is joot.

A fakhir came to imam hussain and stated that he has sold all things he had. He has saved only one thing. Imam hussain asked him what is that you have not sold so far. The man replied that he did not sell his honor, as he found none capable of buying this. Imam hasan asked his treasurer to give all in the treasury to this man. The treasurer asked him what of us. Imam hasan replied he who has given us will give us more and this is not israaf as if you do not give to this person then this could be not acknowledging Allah’s gifts to you. When the man left imam hasan stated that you have left with your honor and I have not purchased it.

Imam Ali was doing tawaaf and a man asked him what is jawaad. Imam Ali replied that a man who completes that Allah has asked him to do is jawaad. Bakhil is he who does not complete that which Allah has asked him to do. In Allah’s case if he gives something to a person then this is jawaad and if he does not give it to man this is also jawaad. In the dua e ibtedah we than Allah for those things that he has given us and for those things that he has not given us. Allah please give us only that which we desire and if you give us more than we require then this would harm us also; and regret it.

Once a man asked me to do istikhara and it turned out good but stated that there would be regret later and i asked him to go ahead but take some benefit and complete the job. He went ahead and purchased a milk van and due to the benefit then he purchased another one and then lost both as a result of an accident. He asked me why and I told him and I told him this was because he did not follow it. We should follow the istikhara and not go around asking for another one.

Allah has given us only that which is needed for us. If we get more then we may be misguided. If we get 10 million dollars we would not be able to do much with it. Allah has decided to give to people as per their needs. He will not give to such a person who will misuse that which he is given. He will give power to some people who will test our iman such as saddam. As the opponent becomes stronger in opposition we should also become stronger in our faith.

Pledge is wafa if you fulfil your promise. A momin fulfils his promise. He does not forget his promise. Desires will bet in the way when you do a promise. Allah states that these people are those who will fulfil their promise. Think of the promise he made on the day of zul ashira he was faithful at every step in every battle on the death of the prophet he did not care of his body his money or any other thing in the defense of the prophet. In the battle of ohad the prophet asked him why did you not run away. The imam replied that oh prophet would I become a kaffir after bringing iman. Imam Ali left such descendants that protected the religion of the prophet forever. The woman of his household gave up their chador for the protection of Islam.
Imam hussain did not go to Karbala to fight in the name of Islam for he did not take an army with him.
